About Me

Why would one of the most technologically impaired people in the world start a blog? Here is my story.. In my previous life, before I had kids, I was a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. Most of my work involved adolescents & their families. Often, at the end of our work together, I would help the family create a ritual designed to help them heal from whatever crisis they had been through & help them transition to the next chapter of their lives. I loved creating these rituals and I could see how they allowed the family to acknowledge emotion, let go and move on.

When I stopped working to take care of my own kids, it was a hard transition. To begin with, I hated my new title: "Housewife". I searched for another job desciption that would help me re-frame my new role in life. I came up with Keeper of Traditions. This inspired me to find meaningful ways to start marking all the milestones in my kids' lives & celebrating all the joy & sorrow on our family's journey through life together.

At the encourgement of my wonderful Bookclub & meditation group, I started writing these traditions down and soon realized, I had a book in the making! This blog is created with the intent to share some of our traditions & to encourage others to share their stories and traditions as well. My hope is that this blog will create a Village of people helping each other celebrate all of life's blessings. Thanks for visiting!
